GC vs Leb

i know you are from Gate City, but its still sad that the GC staff thinks they can go to UVA-Wise and not let Lebanon set up in the press box, thats ridiculous.

If Lebanon did it at home, yeah they were being ridiculous.

But that does not give Gate City an excuse to try and do it.

I mean c'mon. Did they really think they could do that? At a neutral site, they could just not let Lebanon's coaches in teh box? Thats silly, and bitter.

It is ridiculous, i love gate city. i love swva moreso, because i hate mf'ers that think this place is full of retards and is a ****hole, which makes me a realist and somewhat non bias and i see **** from everyones angle, which is why you see me make comments about -whats so different from you to us- ect.

Let's face it, GC has good teams in about every sport. But they always want things their way.

That is ridiculously childish to try and take over both booths for coaches at the regional championship game. As for what happened at Lebanon, it's their field and their pressbox. They have the right to keep other teams out if they want. Maybe that was a little payback for something that had happened at GC in the past, such as all the cursing and abusive language that kids have to put up with from behind the bench when they play at GC, since the authorities conveniently ignore that anything goes on.

Of course Clintwood and Burton did not complain. They have their heads so far up UVA Wises Ass they will never see what is right. Lebanon did not complain because they did not earn the top seed or what used to be the right to host the Region playoff games. There almost is not any reward for winning your games anymore. Those kids at GC worked and played hard to win their games and EARN the top seed. What reward did they get? They were forced to play were they did not want to play. Talk about spirit breaking. One of the things that get me are the ones that say the playoffs are too watered down now rewarding non deserving teams and letting them in the playoffs. Same thing would apply here by rewarding the lower seeded teams by not sending them to where the top seed wants to play. What is the use in trying to schedule tough out of district opponents? This system is ultimately in place to help the teams that schedule cupcake teams by not sending them to the team with the higher seed to play. And dont give me the crap that the kids like playing there. It is UVA Wise! A small time college that has a descent team every 20 years. I know for a fact that the kids at GC did not want to play there this year. The seniors wanted to play what became their last game at their own home field but a bunch of pencil pushers took that a way from them. I can only hope Lebanon can make the state game this time after their players were beat and banged up by that concrete at Wise. This is not about what the fans like or what the schools that dont earn a top seed wants. It is what the kids that play and work to earn that Region D top ranking want. Another thing I find funny is some of the same supporters for this crap are the same ones that threw a crying fit about having to travel to a neautral site for the State Finals. The VHSL might be Corrupt but they have nothing on the Region D!

I know when Clintwood goes to Leb the visiting coaches are put on the roof of the Press box was GC kept from the roof (If so that is wrong as well) It does make one wonder where the Lebanon coaches will be put next year when they visit leagion Field (LOL they may end up in the reserved seating)

Well, like I said, I see it both ways. The reasons I chose not to go were that I needed to save money and I didn't want to fool with the mess.

One way I see it is, yes, Gate City did earn top seed so they should have had a say in where they want to play.

At the same time, it's not much different than having Region finals for other sports at a neutral site. I like the idea of a double header. So really, I see it both ways.

About the incident, if it's true, then it's pathetic for both Gate City and Lebanon.

The bottom line:

Lebanon won the game. It's over. Lebanon will host Radford and will very likely play at Salem High School. If they do, then I will pull for them.

I'm not going to worry about any of the GC coaches trying to keep us out of the pressbox. Because... GC tried to keep us out of the state final four.....and.... THEY FAILED!!!

Nothing like beating the Big Blue for another Region D football title! And dont think that our guys havent earned it.

I feel we can go on now and give a Radford team a really good battle at our place... win and go to Salem.

And its probably good that GC has an early exit out of football and is able to get ready for basketball season. I believe they lost their all everything, do everything point guard along with a few other players and they are going to need all the practice they can get when they face the Cobb bros and company for roundball. I wouldnt be surprised to see big Jerome throw one down on all their heads this year in GC.

This could be a banner year for Pioneer sports!!! Go Pioneers!!!
